Mayweather vs. Cotto Championship Boxing May 5th @6p.m. at Max Sports Grille in Scottsdale

Miguel Cotto spoke to the media via conference call about his fight on May 5th vs Floyd Mayweather, and in the call he seems confident that now is a better time than ever to fight Floyd Mayweather. The Mayweather vs Cotto fight is only a few weeks away, and Cotto seems to feel like he is the best fighter he has ever been, and that the Margarito saga was a blessing in disguise.

“Everything happens in life for a reason,” said Cotto. “Fights can’t happen four, five, six years ago, but they happen now. I feel better right now. I feel this is—after the Margarito fight on December 3rd, I feel much, much better with myself. I think this is the right moment for this fight.”

“I have everything I took from Margarito’s victory—things he stole from me, things he grabbed from me. I have it back, and I feel much better right now.”

Cotto seems at peace with himself right now and if he looks anything like the fighter that took apart Margarito on December 3rd, than Floyd “Money” Mayweather could be in for a shocker.
